Where it came from
The Taco Tuesday Guy, cataloged as LEGO Minifigure series 71004-12, was released in 2014 as part of The LEGO Movie Collectible Minifigures series. The character was designed to represent the quirky, enthusiastic background citizens featured in the film during the iconic 'Taco Tuesday' sequence, a satirical take on corporate-enforced mandatory fun within the movie's dystopian setting.
The minifigure design features a bright, festive poncho-style print and a molded taco accessory, capturing the colorful, slightly frantic aesthetic established by the film's art department. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the movie for its specific role in capturing a memorable piece of the film’s lore, serving as a distinct representation of the movie's blend of slapstick humor and social commentary.
