Where it came from
The 6695 Tanker Truck was released in 1984 as part of the Legoland Town series. This set was designed during a period when the brand was expanding its fleet of service and utility vehicles, aiming to provide children with realistic city-building components. The design reflects the minimalist aesthetic of the early 1980s, utilizing a straightforward chassis and classic red and white color scheme to represent a generic fuel delivery vehicle.
The set was conceived by the company's internal design team to function as an accessible, standalone play piece that complemented larger town layouts. It featured a simple, modular construction that prioritized durability and ease of assembly. While it never achieved the iconic status of larger sets from the era, it remains a well-regarded example of the period's commitment to functional, small-scale vehicle design.
