Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the Lego Minecraft theme, The End Battle (set 21151) depicts the climactic encounter between the player character and the Ender Dragon within the game's final dimension. The set was designed to capture the atmospheric void of the End, featuring the iconic obsidian pillars and the crystal that powers the dragon. It reflects the broader Lego strategy of translating Minecraft's block-based digital world into physical form, adhering to the franchise's minimalist aesthetic while emphasizing play features like the dragon's posable wings and the fireball-shooting mechanism.
The reception of this set centered on its value as a display piece for fans of the game's lore. By including the black dragon, the player figure, and an Enderman, the design team focused on providing the core elements necessary for recreating the end-game sequence. It followed several years of Lego Minecraft sets, building on established building techniques to improve the structural stability of the dragon, which remains a focal point for collectors of the theme who appreciate the integration of fantasy elements into the Lego system.
