Where it came from
The Great Fishing Boat, set 910010-1, was released as part of the BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 in 2024. The program was established to provide a platform for community-designed concepts to be manufactured as official limited-run sets, allowing fans to vote on and fund projects that might otherwise remain digital models. This specific model was designed by EdouardClo, a fan creator who sought to capture the aesthetic of a classic, weathered coastal vessel with functional details.
The design prioritizes realism and nautical charm, featuring a hull structure that mimics traditional fishing boats and a cabin layout replete with maritime accessories. Because it emerged from the BrickLink Designer Program, the set was produced in a significantly smaller quantity compared to standard retail lines, distributed only to those who successfully pre-ordered during the crowdfunding phase. It has been well-regarded by collectors for its sophisticated building techniques and its distinct departure from standard commercial themes.
