Where it came from
The Holiday Duo, set 6644890-1, emerged as a seasonal promotional release intended to capture the festive spirit through buildable, character-driven models. Designed by LEGO in a lighthearted, anthropomorphic style, these figures represent the company's broader efforts to create accessible, smaller-scale decorative sets that appeal to casual builders and holiday enthusiasts alike during the peak shopping season.
The aesthetic of the duo leans into a clean, minimalist design language that prioritizes playfulness and seasonal warmth. By utilizing standard elements to create distinct, recognizable holiday archetypes, the designers aimed for a quick yet satisfying assembly process. Upon release, the set was received as a charming addition to the wider range of seasonal polybags and gift-with-purchase items, serving as a functional piece of holiday décor.
