Where it came from
Released in 2017 as part of The LEGO Batman Movie range, the Arctic Roller (set 70911) was designed to capture the flamboyant and eccentric aesthetic of the Penguin as portrayed in the animated film. The set reflects the movie’s goal of blending classic Batman lore with a highly stylized, satirical design language, resulting in a vehicle that features a distinct hot-rod silhouette paired with functional play elements like dual spring-loaded shooters and a trunk that accommodates a mini-figure.
The vehicle's aesthetic draws from the exaggerated proportions of 1930s luxury automobiles, intentionally oversized to mirror the Penguin's own theatrical personality. Upon its release, the set was noted for its unique color scheme and the inclusion of exclusive mini-figures, making it a point of interest for both movie tie-in collectors and those drawn to the creative, non-standard engineering typical of the broader LEGO Batman cinematic collection.
