The Pig House

The Pig House, released in 2021 as part of the LEGO Minecraft theme, was designed to translate the iconic, whimsical architecture of the game's survival mode into a physical play set. The set represents a 'mega-build' structure shaped like the game's passive pig mob, a popular aesthetic choice among players who often construct bases in the likeness of their favorite in-game animals. It captures the blocky, voxel-based geometry of Minecraft by utilizing standard LEGO bricks to recreate the signature pink color scheme and the functional, modular interior spaces typical of a player's home.

The design team focused on interactivity, incorporating a feature that allows the roof to lift off to reveal living spaces, as well as an explosion function meant to simulate the game's Creepers. Upon release, the set was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful representation of the game's creative mode antics and its inclusion of popular character figures, including Alex, a Creeper, and two small piglets. It remains a representative example of the long-standing partnership between the LEGO Group and Mojang, which seeks to provide tangible extensions of the digital Minecraft experience.
