Where it came from
Released in 2018 as part of the Lego Minecraft theme, The Polar Igloo (set 21142) was designed to represent the snowy biomes featured in the popular sandbox video game. The set captures the game's blocky aesthetic, featuring a buildable igloo with a removable roof for interior access, a polar bear, and a baby polar bear, alongside an Alex minifigure and a stray mob.
The design emphasizes the modularity inherent in both Lego and Minecraft, allowing builders to rearrange the terrain to suit their own play styles. It was received as a faithful interpretation of the game's icy landscapes, catering to fans of the franchise who enjoy the combination of brick-based construction and the survivalist elements iconic to the source material.
