Where it came from
Released in 2024 as part of the Lego Minecraft theme, The Twisted Warden Battle (21591-1) was designed to bring one of the game's most challenging boss encounters to life. The set recreates the Deep Dark biome, specifically focusing on the Ancient City, which was introduced to Minecraft during the 1.19 'The Wild Update' to provide a high-stakes, stealth-oriented environment for players.
The set features a brick-built Warden—a blind but powerful mob that detects movement—and an explorer minifigure equipped with Netherite armor. Designers focused on replicating the eerie, subterranean aesthetic of the Deep Dark, incorporating play features like a collapsing wall that triggers when the Warden emerges. It was received as a faithful adaptation that captures the tension of the game's survival mechanics through functional, interactive play elements.
