Where it came from
The 3615-2 Theatre Stories set was released in the mid-1990s as part of a specialized educational line aimed at encouraging creative play and narrative development in children. Designed to act as a versatile tool for early childhood development, the set included various minifigures and modular stage components, reflecting the era's focus on interactive, scenario-based learning kits that encouraged open-ended storytelling over rigid model construction.
The aesthetic of the set features a simplified, primary-color design language consistent with mid-90s creative playsets. While not tied to a specific intellectual property, it was well-received by educators and parents for its utility in classroom settings, providing a foundation for theatrical role-play. It remains a nostalgic touchstone for collectors interested in the functional, non-licensed sets that defined this specific period of the manufacturer's history.
