Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme, Tiger Widow Island (70604) captures the imaginative narrative of the 'Skybound' story arc. The set represents a critical location in the Ninjago lore, serving as the hidden lair where the protagonist Lloyd and Nya must navigate traps to rescue their allies from the villainous Nadakhan and his crew of sky pirates.
The design of the set focuses on a modular island landscape, incorporating functional play features such as a hidden spider cave, a falling palm tree, and a rotating bridge. The inclusion of the unique Tiger Widow spider element and a comprehensive selection of minifigures, including the rare Sensei Wu and specialized sky pirate designs, made it a well-regarded addition for fans of the show's middle-era aesthetic and buildable environment play.
