Toa Nuju

Toa Nuju, released in 2004 under the Bionicle theme's Metru Nui story arc, represents one of the six Toa Metru characters. This set was designed as part of a significant aesthetic shift for the franchise, transitioning from the organic, tribal influences of the Mata Nui era to the more industrialized, urban landscape of the city of Metru Nui. As an Ice Toa, Nuju is distinguished by his white and light gray color scheme and his unique 'ice crystal' tool design, reflecting the character's role as a scholar and a keeper of historical records within the lore.

The Bionicle design team crafted these figures with a focus on articulation and modularity, utilizing the mid-2000s ball-and-socket system to allow for dynamic posing. The set was created to complement the broader narrative of the Toa Metru's quest to save the Matoran population. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the series for its stability and the inclusion of a collectible Kanohi mask, which became a staple element of the Bionicle collecting experience throughout the decade.
