Where it came from
The 1671-1 Trial Size Box was produced in 1978 as a promotional item for the Lego brand. It was designed to serve as a versatile starter kit, providing a basic collection of bricks intended to showcase the company's modular construction system to new customers. The set came packaged in a simple, utilitarian box that emphasized the core experience of building rather than a specific character-driven narrative.
The design of the set reflects the aesthetic of the late 1970s, prioritizing functionality and the primary color palette that defined the brand's early universal building sets. As an entry-level offering, it was marketed primarily through catalogs and retail displays. The set is now considered a piece of vintage corporate history, often sought after by collectors interested in the evolution of standard-issue packaging and marketing materials from this period.
