Where it came from
Released as part of the Lego Education series, the 45026-1 Tubes set was designed specifically for classroom and early childhood development environments. The set emerged from a broader educational initiative to teach children about physical science, logical thinking, and spatial awareness through hands-on construction. By utilizing modular, interconnecting segments, the system encourages students to experiment with gravity, flow, and structural stability, moving beyond traditional brick-building toward functional, open-ended engineering tasks.
The design of the set focuses on versatility and accessibility, featuring brightly colored plastic tubes and connectors that are compatible with standard Lego elements. Its development reflects a pedagogical shift toward active learning, where the physical assembly of chutes and pathways serves as a tangible representation of cause and effect. It has been primarily distributed through educational supply channels rather than retail toy markets, gaining recognition among educators for its durability and its effectiveness as a collaborative tool for group problem-solving.
