Where it came from
The Vega, set 7320-1, was released in 1999 as part of the LEGO Technic line, specifically under the short-lived 'Supersonic RC' sub-theme. This set was designed to integrate remote-controlled movement into a sleek, aerodynamic vehicle, reflecting the era's experimentation with internal motorization and advanced gear functionality within the Technic construction system.
The model was created by LEGO designers to offer a compact, agile RC driving experience that differed from the larger, heavier Technic vehicles of the time. While it aimed to bridge the gap between traditional brick-building and hobby-grade RC cars, it is now primarily remembered by adult fans of LEGO as a nostalgic example of the company's late-nineties foray into specialized motorized sub-themes.
