Where it came from
The LEGO Icons Vintage Taxi, set 40532, was released in early 2022 as a promotional gift-with-purchase designed to accompany the larger Boutique Hotel modular building. The set serves as a nostalgic nod to mid-century urban transportation, featuring a classic yellow sedan design that captures the aesthetic of 1950s American taxi cabs, complete with a rooftop sign and a small patch of sidewalk.
The design emphasizes clean lines and efficient use of parts to achieve a recognizable retro silhouette. It was received warmly by the adult fan community as a high-quality companion piece that enhances modular city layouts, standing out for its thoughtful detailing despite its relatively small piece count compared to the primary modular sets.
