Where it came from
Wyldstyle (set number 41635-1) was released as part of the LEGO BrickHeadz line, specifically featured in the LEGO Movie 2 collection. It was designed to capture the stylized, blocky aesthetic characteristic of the BrickHeadz series, translating the animated character's intricate graffiti-inspired outfit and distinctive hair into a simplified, constructible form. The set was released in 2019 to coincide with the theatrical debut of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, aiming to capitalize on the film's popularity and the demand for collectible character figurines.
The character design reflects the visual language established by the film, focusing on Wyldstyle's signature black and blue color palette and her unique, multi-colored hair highlights. As a part of a broader trend of licensed character branding within the LEGO ecosystem, the design process for this figure prioritized the iconic geometric elements that distinguish a BrickHeadz build from standard minifigures. Upon release, it was received as a standard entry in the growing BrickHeadz catalog, appreciated by collectors for its thematic connection to the movie franchise.
