Bloodfire Colossus was released in 2001 as part of the Apocalypse set, the final expansion in the Invasion block for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set was designed to bring the long-running storyline involving the invasion of the plane of Dominaria by the Phyrexians to a climactic conclusion.
