Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel was released in 1994 as part of the Legends expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As the game's first expansion to feature cards designed by the player community through a contest, Legends introduced a high-fantasy aesthetic and complex mechanics that significantly expanded the game's depth. The Fallen Angel was conceptualized as a powerful, high-mana-cost black creature, reflecting the game's early thematic focus on morbid and gothic archetypes.

The card’s iconic illustration was created by artist Christopher Rush, one of the most prolific and celebrated contributors to the early Magic: The Gathering era.
