Provenance

Where it came from

The Heroic Intervention card from the Star Trek Art Series was released in 2024 as part of a promotional set designed to celebrate the visual legacy of the Star Trek franchise. This series repurposes iconic artwork from across the franchise's history onto the frame-agnostic card format, allowing fans to appreciate the illustrations as standalone pieces of art rather than strictly functional gaming components.

The specific illustration featured on card number 47 captures a dynamic, high-stakes moment evocative of the series' core themes of leadership and crisis management. The design choice reflects a deliberate move by Wizards of the Coast to lean into the nostalgic aesthetic of Star Trek, utilizing stylized, dramatic portraiture intended to resonate with long-time viewers and collectors of sci-fi memorabilia alike.
