What it does

When Kang enters, choose target creature an opponent controls. Kang and that creature are goaded for as long as you control Kang. (They attack each combat if able and attack a player other than you if able.)

Whenever one or more goaded creatures attack, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control.

Provenance

Where it came from

Kang, Suspicious Captain was released as part of the Star Trek Commander set, a thematic expansion for the Star Trek Customizable Card Game. Designed to capture the strategic and often treacherous nature of Klingon leadership, the card reflects the character's long-standing history as a major antagonist and occasional ally across multiple series, including The Original Series and Deep Space Nine. The card mechanics emphasize his penchant for manipulation, aligning with his portrayal as a cunning military leader.

The art and design were developed to maintain visual consistency with the broader Decipher Inc. card game aesthetic, which relied on promotional stills and high-quality character photography from the television episodes. The card was received by the gaming community as a versatile addition to Klingon-focused decks, prized for its ability to disrupt opponent strategies while staying true to the character's canonical role as a deceptive tactician within the Klingon Empire.
