Kemba's Skyguard

Kemba's Skyguard was released in 2010 as part of the Scars of Mirrodin set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It represents the aesthetic shift of the Mirrodin plane, which had become corrupted by the Phyrexian influence, blending the mechanical, metallic nature of the original world with the organic, biomechanical horror of the invaders. This particular creature card illustrates a leonin warrior equipped with specialized gear, reflecting the desperate efforts of the Mirran resistance to defend their home against the encroaching metallic infection.

The artwork for the card was created by illustrator Matt Cavotta, who has a long-standing history with the game.
