Where it came from
The Lost Jitte, cataloged as 23p within The Big Score promotional set, emerged as part of a specialized release designed to celebrate key mechanics within the game's evolving meta. Created as a promotional variant, it was intended to provide veteran players with a distinct aesthetic version of a utility card that had become a cornerstone of competitive strategy. The design draws on the aesthetic established by the set's core illustrations, emphasizing a weathered, artifact-driven visual style that highlights the weapon's storied nature within the game world.
The artistic direction for this release focused on a subdued, high-contrast palette intended to reflect the card's status as a 'lost' or reclaimed relic. Illustrators working on The Big Score series aimed to evoke a sense of history and tangible weight, moving away from the more vibrant or fantastical art common in earlier expansions. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the competitive community, who valued the print for its clean layout and the prestige associated with its limited promotional distribution.
