What it does
Super-Adaptoid's power is equal to the number of legendary creatures you control.
Whenever Super-Adaptoid enters or attacks, choose another target creature. If that creature has haste and Super-Adaptoid doesn't, put a haste counter on Super-Adaptoid. Do the same for flying, first strike, double strike, deathtouch, indestructible, lifelink, menace, reach, trample, and vigilance.

Where it came from
The Super-Adaptoid card, numbered 250 in the 1990 Marvel Universe Series 1 trading card set, highlights one of the more formidable mechanical threats in the Marvel canon. Created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan, the character first appeared in Tales of Suspense in 1966 as a tool of A.I.M., designed to mimic the physical traits and powers of superheroes. This card serves as a visual chronicle of that narrative history, condensing years of comic book conflict into a collectible format during the early 1990s boom in trading card popularity.
The 1990 Marvel Universe set was produced by Impel Marketing and is widely recognized for establishing the gold standard for comic card design in that era. The set featured high-quality card stock and focused on detailed character profiles written by comic historians. The artwork selected for the Super-Adaptoid highlights the character’s ability to shift its form, capturing the intricate, sometimes menacing aesthetic that characterized the Marvel villains of the mid-century era. Upon its release, the set was praised for its accessibility and became a foundational piece for modern comic card collecting.
