Wall of Water

Wall of Water was originally printed in the 1994 Summer Magic set, a controversial and rare expansion of Magic: The Gathering. Often referred to by collectors as 'Edgar,' this set was intended as a corrected reprint of the earlier Revised Edition but was largely destroyed due to a series of significant printing errors, such as miscolored borders and incorrect card names. Consequently, the few surviving copies were distributed in limited quantities, making the set a foundational piece of hobbyist lore.

The card illustration was provided by artist Jesper Myrfors, who served as the first art director for the game. His design for Wall of Water reflects the early, gothic aesthetic of the game's initial era, utilizing stark, illustrative linework to depict a defensive elemental construct. As part of the small pool of cards that escaped the industrial shredders meant to destroy the defective Summer Magic run, it is regarded today as a notable historical artifact that highlights the chaotic infancy of collectible card game manufacturing.
