Where it came from
Xira Arien was released in 1994 as part of the Legends expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As the first supplemental set in the game's history, Legends introduced the concept of legendary creatures—unique, named individuals that were limited to one copy per player's deck. Xira, a winged insectoid creature from the world of Dominaria, was designed to emphasize the set's focus on multicolored cards, requiring a combination of red, green, and black mana to cast.
