1-Nen C-Gumi Kyoufu Kaigi

1-Nen C-Gumi Kyoufu Kaigi, or 'Year 1 Class C Horror Meeting,' is a shojo horror manga series written and illustrated by Kazumi Suneya. Published in the early 2000s, the work emerged during a period when Japanese manga magazines were frequently experimenting with short-form horror anthology styles aimed at younger female readers. It focuses on the macabre events surrounding a specific school classroom, utilizing a format that balances school-life tropes with supernatural suspense.

Suneya’s design for the series emphasizes the aesthetic conventions of 2000s-era shojo horror, characterized by expressive, slightly elongated character designs and atmospheric paneling intended to build tension within a limited page count. The series was serialized in monthly magazines, serving as a contribution to the subgenre of classroom-based urban legends that were popular in Japanese youth culture at the time. It is remembered by enthusiasts of the era for its consistent focus on psychological unease rather than gratuitous gore.
