Where it came from
2-nen B-gumi Yuusha Destroyers is a short-lived manga series created by Hideaki Sorachi, best known for his long-running work Gintama. Published in Weekly Shonen Jump, the series explores themes typical of Sorachi’s early style, blending absurdist humor with a satirical take on the fantasy hero genre. It serves as an early example of the narrative voice that would later define his more successful endeavors in the medium.
The series was designed to function as a parody of traditional adventure tropes, positioning its protagonists within the rigid social framework of a school classroom. While it did not achieve the longevity of his later projects, it is held in high regard by enthusiasts of Sorachi's body of work, who see it as a foundational text that reveals the author's formative experiments with character archetypes and comedic pacing.
