“A” Budapesti Királyi Magyar Tudomány-Egyetem Könyvtárának czímjegyzéke

This volume represents an official catalogue of the library collection of the Royal Hungarian University of Budapest, now known as Eötvös Loránd University. Published in the late 19th century, these catalogues served as vital administrative tools for the institution during a period of significant intellectual growth within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. They were compiled to provide scholars and faculty with a systematic index of the university's expanding academic holdings, reflecting the rigorous cataloging standards of contemporary European research libraries.

The publication was overseen by the university's library board, which prioritized meticulous classification of scientific and literary works essential to the institution's pedagogical mission. These volumes were primarily intended for internal reference and circulation among academic institutions, serving both as a functional tool for bibliographic retrieval and as a testament to the library's prestige as a center of Hungarian scholarship. The design follows the austere, standardized aesthetic characteristic of 19th-century Central European academic documentation.
