The work was created by Jirou Taniguchi, a master of the gekiga style known for his meticulous attention to detail and quiet, contemplative storytelling. The narrative follows Yoichi, a man who returns to his hometown after the death of his estranged father, using the funeral as a catalyst to reconcile with his memories and re-evaluate his complicated relationship with his past.
