Where it came from
A Yuri Manga Between a Delinquent and a Quiet Girl That Starts From a Misunderstanding was created by the mangaka Yogentei, emerging from the vibrant landscape of online manga publishing. Originally serialized as a webcomic, the work gained traction for its humorous and heartwarming approach to the 'misunderstanding' trope, a staple in romantic comedy manga, by applying it specifically to the burgeoning relationship between two high school students with polar opposite social reputations.
The series is noted for Yogentei's expressive character designs, which lean into the visual contrast between the intimidating, punk-styled delinquent and her shy, introverted counterpart. The narrative explores how their initial assumptions about one another crumble, leading to an earnest and gentle romantic connection. It has been well-received by fans of the yuri genre for its lighthearted tone and the sincerity with which it portrays its central characters navigating social expectations and personal feelings.
