Where it came from
The Adachi to Shimamura Koushiki Comic Anthology was published as a companion volume to the beloved light novel series written by Hitoma Iruma. Released to celebrate the deepening popularity of the series, this collection functions as a curated tribute, featuring various artists who interpret the quiet, evolving relationship between the two titular characters. It serves as an extension of the franchise's exploration of adolescence, intimacy, and the slow-burn pacing that defines the original works.
The cover art and core conceptual direction were led by the illustrator KNOTS, whose distinct style was chosen to complement the soft, atmospheric aesthetic of the series. The anthology was received as a heartfelt homage by the fan base, providing a platform for guest artists to explore narrative gaps within the main story. By balancing lighthearted comedic vignettes with poignant character moments, the volume successfully maintains the tone established by the light novels and the subsequent manga adaptations.
