Akuyaku Reijou wa Shinario wo Shiranai ~Otome Game no Sekai de Shinjitsu no Koi wo Sagashimasu!~

Akuyaku Reijou wa Shinario wo Shiranai ~Otome Game no Sekai de Shinjitsu no Koi wo Sagashimasu!~ is a light novel series authored by Hiiragi Ichiha that emerged during the height of the villainess subgenre's popularity in Japanese web literature. Following the established tropes of the genre, the narrative follows a protagonist who finds herself reincarnated into an otome game, though she navigates the plot without prior knowledge of the game's scenario, shifting the focus toward genuine character growth and relationship building rather than mere survival or meta-gaming.

The series highlights Hiiragi Ichiha’s approach to character-driven storytelling, emphasizing the internal struggles of the titular villainess as she seeks sincerity in a world governed by scripted game mechanics. The light novel format serves to flesh out the world-building and interpersonal dynamics that define the genre, and it has been received by readers as a refreshing take on the 'reincarnated villainess' archetype, leaning into a more heartfelt and earnest tone compared to the genre's more common satirical iterations.
