Alice is a Hero

Alice is a Hero, authored by Masaru Miyazaki, emerged during the late 1980s as part of the flourishing market for seinen manga in Japan. The work reflects the period's interest in darker, more experimental narratives that subverted traditional genre tropes, blending psychological drama with suspenseful plotting. It remains a representative example of Miyazaki's ability to craft intricate, character-driven scripts that navigate complex moral landscapes.

The series is noted for its visual style, which aligns with the gritty, detailed aesthetic common to the era's adult-oriented manga. Designed to engage readers looking for substantive storytelling rather than standard action fare, the title achieved a niche following among enthusiasts of 1980s manga. It is widely considered a product of its time, capturing the specific creative sensibilities that defined independent editorial efforts before the massive global expansion of the medium in later decades.
