Where it came from
Behind the Desks originated as a popular interactive visual novel series developed by Day7, a South Korean studio renowned for its mobile narrative-driven games. The volume serves as a curated anthology or companion piece to the core game, which centers on office-based workplace romances, capturing the tropes and character dynamics that defined the studio's early digital success in the mid-to-late 2010s.
The aesthetic of the series relies on a clean, vibrant anime-influenced art style common in mobile otome gaming, designed to appeal to players seeking escapist storytelling. The volume was produced to provide fans with high-quality illustrations and backstory insights that were not easily accessible within the constraints of the mobile interface, reflecting a strategy common among developers of that era to bridge the gap between digital content and physical collectibility.
