Black Behemoth

Black Behemoth is a South Korean webtoon series written and illustrated by the artist known as Keyijikon. Debuting on the Naver Webtoon platform, the series emerged during a period of increasing international interest in the manhwa format, blending dark fantasy elements with an intricate, often gritty aesthetic. The work was conceived as a high-stakes adventure featuring a distinctively morally ambiguous protagonist, moving away from traditional hero tropes to explore themes of survival and complex motivations within a hostile world.

The design and visual direction of the series were driven by Keyijikon’s specific approach to character tension and environmental atmosphere. The series earned recognition for its sharp contrast between its stylized action sequences and a somber, brooding narrative tone. Critically, the work is noted for its ability to maintain a consistent visual language that mirrors the internal struggles of its characters, which helped establish its dedicated following within the competitive landscape of digital serial comics.
