Blue Lock - If You Call This Love (Doujinshi)

This doujinshi, titled 'If You Call This Love,' was created by the artist known as TAKE.9, also referred to as Yu. It belongs to the expansive subculture of Japanese fan-made publications centered on the Blue Lock franchise, a popular sports manga and anime series focusing on the competitive world of high-stakes soccer. Doujinshi are self-published works that explore themes and character dynamics often left unaddressed or interpreted differently in the original source material, serving as a creative outlet for fans to engage deeply with their favorite characters.

The publication reflects the stylistic trends of modern doujinshi production, where creators often utilize digital illustration tools to mimic the aesthetic of professional manga while exploring specific narrative pairings or 'ships.' In the context of the Blue Lock fandom, these works are typically distributed at large-scale fan events like Comiket or through online doujin marketplaces. They are received by the community as a form of participatory culture that highlights the emotional bonds between characters, catering to an audience that values expanded character exploration beyond the official canon.
