Where it came from
The Bollettino was published by the Società Lombarda per la Pesca e l'Acquicoltura in the early 20th century, serving as a specialized record for the organization's activities in Lombardy. Created during a period of increased scientific interest in aquatic resources and inland fisheries, the volume acted as both a technical report and a newsletter to disseminate research and regulatory updates to members of the society.
The publication's design is typical of institutional bulletins from the era, prioritizing clarity and functional documentation over aesthetic flair. It reflects the broader industrial and agricultural modernization efforts in Northern Italy at the time, providing a structured medium for regional experts to exchange observations on pisciculture, water management, and the ecological health of local waterways.
