Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki, Vol. 6 (light novel)

Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki, written by Yuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly, first debuted in Japan in 2016 before being licensed for English publication by Yen Press. The series belongs to the popular 'isekai-adjacent' genre of light novels that focus on social strategy and personal growth within a contemporary Japanese high school setting. Volume 6 represents a critical turning point in the narrative, continuing the exploration of protagonist Fumiya Tomozaki as he navigates the complex social hierarchies of his peers under the mentorship of Aoi Hinami.

The visual identity of the series is defined by Fly’s distinctive character designs, which emphasize expressive, modern aesthetics that reflect the light novel's focus on interpersonal dynamics. Upon its release, the series garnered attention for its earnest approach to character development, moving beyond typical tropes by framing social interaction as a game that can be learned and improved upon. Readers and critics have generally received the series favorably for its introspective tone and the evolving relationships between the primary cast members.
