Buhwal Nam, or Resurrection Man, originated as a serialized webtoon on the Naver Webtoon platform, created by writer Chae Yong-Taek and illustrator Kim Jae-Han. The series emerged during a period of rising popularity for high-concept, supernatural action titles within the South Korean digital comics market, centering on the premise of a protagonist who possesses the ability to resurrect three days after his death.

The design of the series leans into gritty, stylized action aesthetics that became a hallmark of Kim Jae-Han’s artistic direction. It was developed to explore themes of fate and endurance, garnering significant attention for its kinetic panel layouts and the unique narrative hook of the main character’s involuntary rebirth.
