Chi en France ~‘Chi's Sweet Home’ France-ban~

Chi en France is the French-language localized edition of the celebrated manga series Chi's Sweet Home, originally created by Japanese mangaka Konami Kanata. First serialized in Japan in 2004, the series centers on an inquisitive grey-and-white tabby kitten who becomes lost and is subsequently adopted by the Yamada family. The French edition brought the heartwarming, slice-of-life narrative to a Western audience, helping to cement the series' reputation as an international staple of the seinen genre.

The visual design of the series is defined by Kanata's distinctively soft, minimalist aesthetic, which utilizes a bright, accessible color palette to capture the kitten’s wide-eyed perspective on the domestic world. The French publication was handled by Glénat, a major publisher in the bande dessinée and manga market, which chose to maintain the original charm of the illustrations while adapting the text for local readers. The series was received warmly across Europe, praised for its universal themes of companionship and its ability to transcend cultural barriers through the expressive, wordless demeanor of its titular character.
