Chikyuu ni Umarechatta Hitobito

Chikyuu ni Umarechatta Hitobito, which translates roughly to People Born on Earth, is a surrealist gag manga series by the Japanese creator Nagasaki Lychee. The work is widely recognized for its dry, absurdist humor, often centering on bizarre scenarios and deadpan character interactions that subvert typical manga tropes. It emerged from the niche alternative manga scene in Japan, finding a dedicated audience through its frequent serialization in various manga magazines that cater to readers interested in experimental and avant-garde storytelling.

Nagasaki Lychee designed the series with a stripped-back aesthetic, focusing heavily on minimalist linework to highlight the comedy of the situations rather than ornate visual detail. The character designs are deliberately simple, allowing the chaotic and unpredictable nature of the dialogue to take center stage. Upon its release in collected volumes, the series was well-received by critics and readers who appreciate the 'heta-uma' or 'bad-good' art style, earning the author a reputation for creating unique, offbeat comedy that remains difficult to categorize within mainstream genres.
