Close to Her Asian Billionaire: A Bwam Love Story for Adults

Published in 2016, this volume is part of a wave of self-published digital-first romantic fiction that gained traction through platforms catering to niche genre interests. Written by Erica A. Davis, the work centers on the specific trope of interracial billionaire romance, an subgenre that saw significant growth in popularity during the mid-2010s as authors utilized direct-to-consumer publishing to explore themes of wealth, power dynamics, and cross-cultural relationships.

The design and narrative approach reflect a focus on the Black Woman/Asian Man (BWAM) romantic demographic, prioritizing character-driven tropes common in contemporary romance literature of the period. Like many titles in this category, it was produced to fill a specific market demand for diverse representation in erotic and romantic fiction, and it relies on the conventions of the genre to engage readers interested in rapid-paced, trope-heavy storytelling.
