Dark Hunter: Chimera Tenryuhen

Dark Hunter: Chimera Tenryuhen is a manga series authored by Baku Yumemakura, a celebrated Japanese writer known for his prolific work in fantasy, historical, and adventure fiction. The narrative expands upon the dark, atmospheric world established in his original Chimera series, blending elements of horror, supernatural intrigue, and martial arts to create a distinctively gritty aesthetic.

The illustrations for this adaptation were handled by artist Mitsuyuki Nishimura, who sought to translate Yumemakura's dense, prose-heavy world into a dynamic visual medium. The design prioritizes moody character portraits and kinetic action sequences, aiming to capture the visceral intensity of the source material. Upon its release, the series was received as a stylistic departure that leaned heavily into the darker, more unsettling aspects of the Chimera mythos.
