Demon slayer. Kimetsu no yaiba

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, originally serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in 2016. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who becomes a demon slayer after his family is slaughtered and his sister is turned into a demon. The series emerged during a peak era for dark fantasy shonen manga, grounding its supernatural battles in emotional stakes and a distinct visual style inspired by traditional Japanese woodblock prints, known as ukiyo-e.

The series became a global cultural phenomenon, significantly aided by the high-production adaptation from Ufotable, which helped elevate Gotouge’s work to record-breaking sales heights. This specific volume, published by Star Comics for the Italian market, represents the international expansion of the franchise. It is recognized for its blend of harrowing action sequences and themes of compassion, which resonated deeply with audiences seeking both intense spectacle and character-driven storytelling.
