Dinosaurs Sanctuary

Dinosaurs Sanctuary is a manga series written and illustrated by Kinoshita Itaru, serialized beginning in 2021. The work emerged from the author's longstanding interest in paleontology, aiming to blend rigorous scientific anatomical accuracy with the narrative structure of a modern sanctuary management story. Set in a contemporary facility where dinosaurs are raised as if they were animals in a zoo, the series serves as both an entertaining slice-of-life drama and a showcase for current fossil-based scientific knowledge.

The design of the dinosaurs within the manga is notable for its commitment to the 'dino-soar' movement, which prioritizes the inclusion of feathers and soft tissue structures as indicated by recent paleobiology research. Kinoshita’s art style focuses on realistic posture and skin texture, contrasting with the often outdated, reptilian-focused depictions seen in pop culture. The series has been recognized by paleontologists for its dedication to anatomical detail, receiving praise for its educational effort to modernize the public perception of these prehistoric creatures.
