Dizionario corografico-universale dell'Italia: Dizionario corografico della Lombardia / compilato da parecchi dotti italiani. ; riv. per cura di Felice Griffini

The Dizionario corografico-universale dell'Italia was a nineteenth-century publishing project aimed at providing a comprehensive, systematic geographical and historical survey of the Italian peninsula. The specific volume covering Lombardy was edited by Felice Griffini, an Italian writer and editor who oversaw the revision process to ensure the accuracy and coherence of the topographical descriptions and historical data included in the work.

The project emerged during a period of intense intellectual activity in Italy, characterized by a growing national consciousness and a desire to document the country's diverse regional identities. Designed as a reference work for scholars and those interested in the administration and landscape of the Italian regions, it was characterized by its meticulous, encyclopedic approach to gazetteer compilation, intended to serve as a standard for nineteenth-century Italian geography.
