Doukyuusei!! ~Zutto Kimi ga Suki datta~

Doukyuusei!! ~Zutto Kimi ga Suki datta~ was authored by Ikeyamada Go and serialized in the shojo manga magazine Sho-Comi. Published during a period when the magazine was heavily focused on high-energy, emotive romantic dramas, the work serves as a continuation of themes established in the author's previous projects. It fits squarely within the tradition of school-life romances, capturing the typical tropes of early 2000s Japanese youth culture while maintaining the fast-paced, direct narrative style that became a hallmark of Ikeyamada’s bibliography.

The design of the series centers on the expressive, large-eyed character art style that defined the Sho-Comi aesthetic of the era. Ikeyamada Go aimed to highlight the internal conflicts and burgeoning relationships of high school students, using dramatic visual framing to underscore moments of romantic tension. Upon release, the volume was received primarily by the author's core demographic of adolescent readers, solidifying its place in the extensive library of mainstream shojo manga intended for casual consumption and circulation in school libraries.
