Dragon Ball - DB Super EX (Doujinshi)

The DB Super EX series is a collection of doujinshi—fan-created manga—produced by the artist known as Asshie. Emerging from the vibrant Japanese self-publishing scene, these works were crafted for distribution at events like Comiket, where creators share unauthorized, transformative extensions of established intellectual properties. These volumes typically focus on expanding the narrative scope of the Dragon Ball universe, utilizing the author's original art style to interpret characters and scenarios beyond the scope of Akira Toriyama's official canon.

Asshie’s design approach is characterized by a high fidelity to the source material's dynamic aesthetic while often incorporating mature or specialized themes common in doujinshi circles. These works are primarily valued by collectors for their role as underground continuations of the franchise, reflecting a niche desire for alternative Dragon Ball storytelling. Because these items are unofficial, they occupy a space of informal cultural exchange rather than formal publishing history, serving as a testament to the enduring, participatory nature of the Dragon Ball fanbase.
