Where it came from
Faster Than a Kiss - Future, also known as Faster Than a Kiss: After-School, serves as a sequel volume to Tanaka Meca's long-running shōjo manga series Faster Than a Kiss. First serialized in LaLa, the original story explored the unconventional domestic life of a high school student and her teacher. This specific volume was released to satisfy reader interest in the protagonists' lives several years after the main narrative concluded, providing a formal look at their transition into adulthood and family life.
Tanaka Meca is known for her clean, expressive linework and ability to navigate the complex emotional dynamics characteristic of the shōjo genre. In this follow-up, she maintains the series' established visual language while shifting the tone toward a more mature exploration of long-term commitment. The volume was received by fans as a nostalgic and satisfying coda, reflecting the author's intent to provide closure for a series that had been a staple of the LaLa magazine for many years.
